Spreadsheets are my friends. I have a set of 13 of them this year - 1 per month plus a 'report card' that pulls the totals out of each month and lists them together. I'd need to write a manual to actually share them with anyone, though, so I usually just point people in the direction of the WriYe spreadsheet. There's a link to it buried in the 'reaching your goals' board or you can just get it from WriYe.
Other tips might turn up later - possibly after I actually find a place to talk about reaching full-year goals. Whichever crazy person put together the 2012 boards seems to have forgotten all about full-year goals...

Hellooo! Found this site mentioned over on FebNo, so I just moseyed on over here! ^_^ :-D I am Agent Double Oh Zero, a.k.a. Bobo the Bard. XD I have way too many alter egos at this point. This year, I am doing milwordy, so I am basically haunting every single writing forum I find. I realize that the last reply was over a month ago, but for the full year goals...have any of you ever used WriteTrack? In 2010, I spent a massive amount of time building this giant spreadsheet for 2011 which basically duplicated the functionality of the NaNo status page, even right down to the graphs themselves! I had a page for each month, and one giant one for the whole year. I didn't bother redoing it for 2012. I use this: writetrack.davidsgale.com/Basically you can create different challenges, and set a different length, whatever you want, for each one. You can enter your word count as either a daily amount, or a total amount. It gives you graphs and progress reports. You can also 'weight' each day, like if you have more time to write on the weekends or weekdays, or if you know that you'll have one day off, but something else taking up the weekend. Then it'll rearrange your word goals for you, according to how much weight you put on it. I just left all of mine as 100, but it's really good for when you want to vary the pressure on yourself according to your schedule. I'm using it for milwordy.

I am Breeze *waves hand excitedly*. I found out about NaNoWriMo through another writer friend, then went on to discover all the other WriMo challenges. The first one I did was the April Fool's Challenge, and I finished double my word count, so I don't think 50K will be that difficult. I'm a part of many, many forums. ( FictionFactorForum, NaNoWriMo, April Fool's Challenge, Figment, those are just a few. ) I've met many great writer-ly people and I hope to meet some more here!

Hello, Breeze . *waves back* The next action is probably going to be something like *hunts for appropriately enthusiastic welcome message*. You're here at a good time, at least. I've finally (maybe) come up with a layout that doesn't scare people away and the site is about to explode with life. Yes, it will. Even if I have to break out the lightning.

Wow, I feel so daft for only reaching this board now. So many familiar faces! For anyone who doesn't know me; I'm RJA, also known as Aniek. I'm a 24 years old Dutch girl and I've been infected with a virus called NaNoWriMo. It happened in the year 2009 in which I immidiately failed terribly. So i had to make up for that in December and discovered NaNoFiMo (finishing month). In 2010 I still kept writing a lot - started on my trilogy I'm still working on - but I didn't know about there being so many other WriMo's. 2011 I enterred on WriYe and aimed on a 50k WriMo 10 out of 12 months (500k), this year I'm repeating that. Well enough about my addiction. Writing is NOT all I do - just most I do - I'm a college student majoring in Communication, freelance photographer and singer in a party/coverband. I have two babygirls who are my entire world. They are brown, have long tails and four legs and are also recognised as being Welsh ponies. When I'm not writing, studying, working ór spending time with my girls, I like to go out with friends (drinks, shopping, movies whatever) and I have a movie/tv show addiction as well. Right - well all of this is made possible by my ADD which makes me do A LOT of different things in one day. I'm not that big on doing nothing ^_^ Hmm guess that's 'nuff said about me. If anyone wants to know more about me... WAIT - about writing - guess that's what we're here about... I mostly write Romance/Drama/Young Adult. I have this big thing for broken families or destroyed lives I write about. Also a lot of football - soccer for the Americans here - tends to end up in my stories, not sure why... (did I mention I like to watch - a lot - of football as well?) Okay, now I'm really gonna stop babbling! That's me!

Hi, RJA! Great to see you here.
Now I need to ask a random question: what does a communication major do?

So... I've done this about twice already this year, and I'm trying to decide how to thinkup another creative introduction. ... So much for imagination *grimace* I'm Wing, and a Nanoer who wishes that they had hypergraphia (not strange at all.. right?) I've been doing Nano since 2009, but I haven't actually signed up for any challenges outside of November until this year (there was a short phase in 2010 where I attempted one and failed though...) Hmmm. I mostly came since it's kind of hard to stay on the April Challenge and National May Writing Month boards after - you know, April and May are over... As above, I mostly write and also abuse StumbleUpon - though occasionally I do read, jog, run, play tennis, watch movies, technically socialize, act, take the SAT *shudder* , and grow wings and fly to the moon. So... that's it. I'm also bad at writing conclusions not only in fiction, but in forum posts. Just saying.

Hi, Wing . We do lots of fun pro-wrimo, pro-hypergraphia and pro-various-other-things-to-do-with-creativity stuff on Arrow of Eloquence. Okay, I mostly flail around trying to pretend I know how to run a forum and hoping I never get any actual complaints, but that's another story. Anyway, welcome! Have fun! Resurrecting old/abandoned threads if they look interesting is totally encouraged. I think there might even be a necromancy challenge lying around somewhere to help with that...

Welcome wingch! Now I need to ask a random question: what does a communication major do? Er - we communicate? ^_^ Hihi just kidding. Got asked that question quite a lot, though mostly in Dutch, but I'll try to explain it in English as well; But it's quite a wide education. We learn a lot about marketing/marketing communication, corporate communication, public communication (politics) but also journalism and graphic design. Guess in four years they teach us about the best way to translate a message in words or images in all sorts of situations. I hope to find a job in the journalism/copywriting business when I'm done...

Hi everyone, I'm Darkshines. I'm a grad student in real life and I originally started writing fiction in my spare time to help me write essays faster, but it kind of took on a huge life of its own. LillianAltair finally harangued me into seeking help and here I am I'm still in school and currently in a full-time internship so I might not be able to do some of the more extreme challenges, especially around midterms and finals but I can't wait to meet everyone and hear what you all are up to!
