Does anyone have ideas for next year in 2013 that we can talk about on here after November and December are over with and when January and the new start for 2013 begins. If anyone has ideas jot them down in this thread i want to know what you guys want on here for 2013.

2013? But that's...
Oh, right around the corner. In that case it must be time to start thinking about next year after all.
I'll just add a question: for 2013, should we have a dark or a light theme as the default look of the site?

I like dark.
Also: 2013. Year of revision?
...Year of Finding The Light At The End of the Tunnel?

What does everyone think of a switch to orange for 2013? We also need to think of "The Official Year of..." title. Bonus points for anyone who can come up with a NaNoWriMo-style acronym for it as well .

I think orange for 2013 will be great Siana.

I like orange. But then, I already have the fiery dark blue and orange theme set on my profile anyway. :-)
Also...hmm...2013...
The Year of Finding The Light At The End Of The Tunnel: YeFiLiTu The Year of The Long Dark Snacktime of the Soul: YeLoDaSnaSo The Year of the Infinite Loop of Doom: YeInLooDoo (Finite Loop: YeFiLooDoo) The Year of Spiraling Into Madness: YeSpiMad (The Year of Finicky Folkloric Fumbling: YeFiFoFum.) (Alt. Year of Fearless Fighting, Forts, and Fuming: YeFeFiFoFum. #iregretnothing)
Now I am strongly tempted to write a quest-style metacanon story about a mismatched group of intrepid writer-explorers who get trapped in a tunnel that is millions of miles long. At one end lies the Chasm of Despair, and at the other end lies the Light. There is a slight gravitic pull from the Chasm, and if they don't keep walking, they'll fall in. Though reaching the Light will be nearly impossible, they must do so, if they ever want to escape with their lives.

Am I allowed to chip in here since I've been gone forever? *headwall* I'm sorry. Life grabbed me by the ho-jos this year. >.>
My favourites - YeFiLiTu, YeInLooDoo/YeFiLooDoo, and YeSpiMad - all kind of sound like chanting (well, the last one kind of sounds like a small animal. 'What's that, Dad?' 'That, my boy, is a Yespimad. Don't you get too close, all right? These things'll fill your head with all kinds of things and send your fingers tappin' across a keyboard at all hours, just tryin' to keep up.')
I feel like we could come up with our own brand of 'writer chatter' out of NaNo-style acronyms.
@agent That's so meta. I love it. :3

All these suggestions are awesome . (and I'm waiting to hear about the epic rescue when the floor collapses under one of those intrepid writers and the others have to rescue him/her from a gaping plot hole)

Proposed new section: "The WIP-from-Hell Challenge", a place for focusing on getting on top of those major soul-eating projects. Other than that, I really have no clue what sections we actually need. I've made a mess of it the last couple of times, so please help! All right, I guess we need the PPTs and forum games/procrastination space is going to come in handy. Like I said, though... help?

I love it.
Yeah, a way to keep track of progress is a must as is a place to unwind - especially since they're soul-eating projects.
Maybe challenges specific to your project? Like, you set the challenge for yourself and other people can either join you or use the thread to cheer you on?
I'm not sure... I mean, you want everyone to have enough room and resources, so to speak, but you don't want to have things be cluttered, either.

Jezzy, I like that idea. I don't think it needs a separate section, since it could fall under WIP-From-Hell (which is for anyone wrestling with a WIP), so it could be included without clutter. :-)
Let's see, sections we DO need: WIP-From-Hell PPTs Games and Procrastination
I also really like the blogging thread we had during NaNo. Seeing everyone else updating their blogs made me want to update mine too. At the same time, it also helped me...not forget the existence of other NaNoers' blogs. >_> I don't know if we can do it again in 2013, but if we do, maybe it could be a year-long once a week posting kind of thing, if anyone else wants. We could also have occasional blogging challenges that everyone does, like the blog hop a while back. ...if anyone is interested in that. :-)
I also like the motivation thread.
Hmm.
We also need a section for Random, Off Topic, and/or Awesome, Not Necessarily Meaning Those Are Mutually Exclusive, Things. Also of course, the usual Help/Suggestions section. Maybe an Excerpt/Critique section, although that could also go under PPTs. Oh, and maybe a Resources/Wrimo list section.
I'm trying to think of other ones, but mostly the other boards are all really quiet, and *cricketcricketcricketcricketcricket* *tumbleweed*

*catches tumbleweed* We do seem to have problems with these things, don't we? *glues eyes on it* There! ^^ Maybe 2013 should be a year to streamline things a little? Not cut out things that people are having fun with but don't leave things up if no one's going to be around. I really love the blogging ideas. I love working on my own blog and reading other writers blogs but I tend to forget that they exist from time to time. Any critique/editing/excerpt/resources section would be a good edition, I think. I can write all year but getting something edited and actually done is a whole different thing. So... WIP-From-Hell PPTs Post an Excerpt Critique Circle Editing Bay (maybe?) Resources Help and Suggestions Games and Procrastination Yes? No? Change things? Reorder? *flails* 2013 is going to be interesting, I think. I kind of wish I was good with graphics and web badge things. I'd make signature things for staff members... and little badge things that you got based on how many words/how many books/how many months/etc. (like that JASON Run thing. That would have a badge.) Alas I am not talented in that way. (Or rather, I'd have no idea how to start learning. But that's another post entirely.) I think we're figuring things out.

WIP-From-Hell PPTs Post an Excerpt Critique Circle Editing Bay (maybe?) Resources Help and Suggestions Games and Procrastination Post an Excerpt, Critique Circle, and Editing Bay could all be in the same section, just with tags like [read], [critique], [edit] added to the post title and an explanation at the top of the post of what kind of feedback (if any) the poster is looking for. That's more or less what the Reading Room was supposed to do. Hmm... 'One Year of WriMos' and the NaNo-land stuff could probably go in the 'Ink-Slinger's Guide to (almost) Everything, since all we'd need to do is sticky the list of all the wrimos and then let the rest sort itself out. So... Entrance Hall -- Official Announcements -- Help, Suggestions and Introductions (or something) -- Staff Room The Asylum -- PPTs -- The WIP-from-Hell challenge -- WriMoing, NaNoMongering and the Battle for Words (aka Other Challenges) -- The Reading Room -- The Ink-Slinger's Guide to Almost Everything -- Random, Off Topic, and/or Awesome, Not Necessarily Meaning Those Are Mutually Exclusive, Things (aka Games and Procrastination ) (also, I sort of want to domesticate the tumbleweeds now)
