I like the idea of the JASON run, because it's a really convenient acronym. Oh, and this time, we have an OLL event at both ends to kick things off and tie them up! It would work very well for WIP-From-Hell, or as a standalone challenge.
I like that structure. I think it includes pretty much everything that people had fun with, but it cuts out the tumbleweed boards.
Speaking of which, now I am very tempted to troll people by creating a 'Silence Conservation and Domestication Board', with the description 'This board is a natural preserve dedicated to the conservation of tumbleweed and internet crickets, an increasingly endangered forum ecosystem. Please NOT post in this board, as human interaction will upset the delicate balance of wild flora and fauna.''

It is, isn't it? We do? I'd heard that but I wasn't sure this year. They keep changing it on me...
Is it bad that I really love that idea? XD Internet crickets are an endangered species and deserve to be protected!

Yeah, they confirmed it in a NaNoMail. Camp NaNo is in April and July, and of course NaNo is in November. :-)
I should give you all fair warning that if I am further encouraged, you must not be surprised if one day the nature preserve pops up on PlotMo.

I like how the layout for this site in 2013 is going to be. I cannot wait to see how it is going to turn out.

So, I've been thinking about the new structure I suggested earlier:
Entrance Hall -- Official Announcements -- Help, Suggestions and Introductions (or something) -- Staff Room
The Asylum -- PPTs -- The WIP-from-Hell challenge -- WriMoing, NaNoMongering and the Battle for Words (aka Other Challenges) -- The Reading Room -- The Ink-Slinger's Guide to Almost Everything -- Random, Off Topic, and/or Awesome, Not Necessarily Meaning Those Are Mutually Exclusive, Things (aka Games and Procrastination)
I'm now less convinced about the idea of a whole board for the WIP-from-Hell challenge. Perhaps it would be better to put all writing-related challenges in 'WriMoing, NaNoMongering and the Battle for Words' (or whatever - anyone is welcome to suggest names for these things).
What I was thinking was that help and advice on the subject of writing, editing and all that stuff is just going to get tossed into the 'resources' area. Daily and monthly wordcount challenges will all be in the 'WriMoing...' section. What's going to go in the WIP-from-Hell challenge that needs an entire board instead of just a single sticky thread at the top of the 'WriMoing...' board?
There would be other threads that could go there as well, like the list of all the active wrimo-type events, the present month's wrimo roll-call/news thread and maybe a year-round writing goals thread. Oh, and the JASON run and whatever other events like that we think up.
Shorter term challenges (wridays, wriweeks, wrikends etc. would be in the same board, so everything wordcount-related would be together.
Now, maybe I've missed something important and a whole stack of other things that could go in a WIP-from-Hell board, but it seems to me that all the challenge needs is a single thread with the WIP-from-Hell challenge rules and then a 'form' everyone can use to state their goal, their progress towards completing it and later on a shoutout when they've reached the end.
Thoughts?
By the way, if everyone is agreeable to the idea, I'll probably set up the 2013 skin and sections around the 16th or 17th of this month. I hope to be finished my current story around then, so it's a good time to tackle a non-writing project.

Yes, that makes sense. I don't think that we need a whole separate board, if we can keep all the challenge related threads for the JASON run and the WIP-From-Hell Challenge together. Also, looking forward to seeing the new skin. :-)

Oh, was I supposed to be making a new skin and archiving things by now? Er... in that case, does anyone have a thread they'd like carried over to 2013? Your PPT is a good example, but it could be something from anywhere.
I guess I should wander off and make some graphics or something.

Siana was going to make a new skin and archive the boards. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
If my PPT will be accessible from the archives, then go ahead and archive it, and I think I'll make a new one for 2013. If it's going to be deleted, then carry it over. :-)

Not deleting anything, just archiving it.

Last chance (maybe): what are we going to call 2013? Agent Double Oh Zero came up with the following suggestions: The Year of Finding The Light At The End Of The Tunnel: YeFiLiTu The Year of The Long Dark Snacktime of the Soul: YeLoDaSnaSo The Year of the Infinite Loop of Doom: YeInLooDoo (Finite Loop: YeFiLooDoo) The Year of Spiraling Into Madness: YeSpiMad (The Year of Finicky Folkloric Fumbling: YeFiFoFum.) (Alt. Year of Fearless Fighting, Forts, and Fuming: YeFeFiFoFum. #iregretnothing) JezzyHatesJazz liked YeFiLiTu, YeInLooDoo/YeFiLooDoo, and YeSpiMad. Siana Blackwood had no idea and was distracted by the WIP-from-Hell challenge. Then tumbleweeds invaded the thread and everyone was distracted by wondering how to promote board activity without destroying the silence necessary for these fragile creatures. A resurgance of order came with discussions on the structure of the boards for 2013, but the question of "The International Year of...?" was never actually answered. So... What are we going to call 2013?

Year of Awesome Headbanging - YeAH! Year of Increasingly Inane Acronym Suggestions - YIIAS! (or YeInInAcSug) Year of All of the Above - YOAOB (try pronouncing THAT, it's fun) - YeAlAb
...I'm out.
I like YeFiLiTu and Ye(Fi/In)LooDoo about the same, and YeSpiMad comes in second.
