In 2012 we're going to change the way the wrimo section of this site is organised. The writing months will all become part of a series of epic multi-month challenges. Once challenge is already decided: JASON, a five-month extravaganza beginning with JulNo and ending with NaNo.
But... how should we group the other months? What awesome names can we give them? Should we have special rules, rewards or something else I haven't thought of yet?
The challenges:
* January, February, March (JanNo, FebNo, MarNo, NaNoEdMo)
* April, May, June (April Fools, Script Frenzy, MayNo, WriDaNoJu)
* June/August (Camp NaNo)
* JASON: July, August, September, October, November (Julno, AugNo, SeptNo, GothNoWriMo, ScifiWriMo, NaNoWriMo)
* December (NaNoFiMo) - possibly "The Writing Room"
What you can do to help:
1. Name these challenges!
2. Come up with a brilliant arrangement for the months of January to May and then name those challenges instead.
3. Come up with an idea for a reward or a set of rules for a challenge.
4. Come up with a random suggestion!

Unfortunately I do not have any clever names to contribute. Cleverness isn't really my thing. I'm mostly just here to ask for clarification on this idea. I don't really understand how multi-month challenges will work. Do we set a word count goal for multiple months at once? Do we work on several projects or just strive to write one super-long crazy novel? Or is it just that we get extra bragging rights if we complete all of the individual challenges within the multi-month period? I'm both confused and excited about this new idea.
As a side note, my boyfriend's name happens to be Jason. I see some misunderstandings in my future... I'll be telling a friend how frustrating JASON is, and they'll be like, "I'm sorry you guys are having problems," and I'll be all like, "No, not Jason, JASON." Or something like that.
I think I'm rambling, so I'm just going to hit the "post reply" button now.

It's pretty much bragging rights . I guess it's really just a different way of categorising the full year of writing challenges. At the moment they're in quarters, but giving them names is fun (or something). Of course, if someone wants to do one super-long crazy novel they're welcome to try it. I was going to make up some kind of long explanation of how it all works, but... yeah. Really just more fun names than 'First Quarter' and so on. Definitely bragging rights for anyone who completes all the wrimos in a challenge, though.
