Proposal for a simplified layout

As admin of this site, I fully realise that if I (the site designer) can't figure out where to put a thread then everyone else must find the place an absolute nightmare. With that in mind, I have the following proposal for a new, ridiculously simplified layout:

Bulletin board: official notices, about us etc.

Help

Staff Room

I came from NaNo-Land: introductions, probably general WriMo-related chatter)

PPTs: well, we all know what those are

One Year of WriMos: list of wrimos and writing-related challenges
-- Any-time challenges: word wars and stuff like that

The Ink-Slinger's Guide to (Almost) Everything: planning, writing and editing-related chatter

The Cafe (reading, art, general chat, self-promotion etc.)
-- The reading room (reading and critiquing work by AofE members)

The Games Room (fun and games)

Since there actually are a few people around at the moment, please provide feedback on this suggestion. I'm particularly uncertain as to the placement of the challenges and the critiquing section.

Plus of course I may have missed something entirely or added something that really doesn't need to be there. The overall aim of this site is to be a general hangout for the Pro-WriMo crowd, so it doesn't need to replicate any functionality that's going to be found in the WriMo sites.

Feedback, please?

Hey Siana i was wondering when the site is going to be a simplified layout soon because i am looking forwards to seeing how it turns out. I just wanted to ask because i am curious when its going to happen.

Seriously, I'm not going to pull the whole site apart and put it back together different if it's okay how it is. I'm also not going to do it just for the exercise.

QUESTION: Would the layout suggested in the original post make the site better?

The simplified layout will be better and much easier to get around to then what it already is i am all for a simplified layout you should do it Siana. I think everyone will probably like the new simplified look too.

The changes will probably happen in the next twelve or so hours. If you see me logged in, it's possible that I'll be moving things around, but the sections everyone uses are (mostly) going to stay as they are. Don't panic .

Oh, goodness. I have NO idea how I missed this. ...Must be the overcomplicated layout, haha! ;D

Anyway, I like the idea of the new layout. As it is, there are so many boards that a lot of the functionality overlaps.
