Yay! I got one! Now you can all nag me when I don't make any progress for days/weeks.
Thanks, Wolfy. It was certainly an experience, and I'm glad I tried, but balancing school and NaNo became too much. I'm going to try again next year.

Hello! I'm Silvia, and I just completed my first NaNoWriMo with a (rather unexpected) win. I found my way here from NaNoFiMo, which I just recently joined. I am an ageless nymph who loves reading, writing, music, animals, sewing, drawing, and painting. I make my home inside of my own mind, and I am not very happy when pulled out of it and into the horrid world of Reality. I'm also terrible at intros. I am homeschooled (a homeschooler never stops being homeschooled. Ever.) and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am a dreamer, and I never want to be anything else. I have been referred to as a "walking dictionary" and I don't mind it. I wish to someday actually have my stories published and be able to make a living through writing. I have written since I was 8 years old, though I did stop writing for a few years due to ridicule and fear. Those were the worst years of my life, for the most part. I picked it back up this past year, and I never want to stop. And that seemed rather lengthy. Sorry. ._.

Hi, Silvia! Welcome to AofE!
By all means write long posts and write many of them. It's been very quiet here lately and more chatter would be great.

Thank you for the welcome, Siana. You may regret granting me permission to ramble on. I can chatter a lot without even realizing it. You've been forewarned.

Oh god, I hate writing introductions. I'm Mars. Amazing. Live in Aus. The rest can be found in my PPT.

Hi! My name's Emma, but call me sagefish, jedi or something alike if you wish. It pleases me. As of October I'm twenty-one years old, for those who like to know. I've been writing since I could write. So basically for as long as I can remember and I've always done it a lot. I've participated and won NaNoWriMo since november 2005 and have been participating in varies of other writing challenges as Script Frenzy, WriYe and some others. Recently I've done something bizarre: signed up for 1kk in 2012.

jedisagefish, that is indeed bizarre. What kind of crazy person would sign up for a million words? Oh, right - me... but that was last year. I'm only being 6/10ths that insane this year.
Consider this your warning: by the end of 2012 you will be as insane as I am right now.

I'm looking forward to it! So, you actually reached the goal then? If so, that's amazing. How did you do it?!

Yeah, I made it to 1kk. It was pretty crazy - kind of like doing a wrimo only much more extended. You have a good month where everything seems awesome and exciting and then you have a bad month where it all just hurts both physically and emotionally. Then there's an okay month where you just barely scrape through to the 84k per month goal, followed by another month of sheer hell. The only thing that really keeps you going is taking it month by month and really wanting to write the stories. It's a really good learning experience, though. My characters got stronger and my plots actually started to exist. I understand amazing amounts more about what it takes to finish a first draft and what things I'll need to do this year when I'm working towards some second drafts. I've also really gotten the 'ramble' down to a fine art. Why say in a few words what can become a page or so ?

Hm, I'm exited for this, although I know that's firstly because it's just started and everything still seems so plausible. I'm looking forward to the experience anyway, even if it is a bad one... I've pulled off 100 to 200k for nanowrimo over the past years and even managed to write 30k in ten hours once, which gives me some hope. (Can't say the work was good though... I was just curious how many words I could pull off, hehe...)
I'm looking for a good spread sheet/report card now, so I won't have to keep posting everything in one document, cause it seems that just takes up too much time. Especially as I write things in between writing other things, and so on and so on. (Any tips on how you did this?)
I'm brilliant at going off topic... Sorry for that.
